What we want to add is this: Typically, we buy our bubble teas from our favorite bubble tea shop, which is within walking distance of our home. It's so easy to have the crew there fix up whatever blend we might like that day. In our experience, fans of bubble tea like the freedom of tweaking their orders at a shop like this, depending on what they feel like that day. But, as other reviewers already have mentioned, we also occasionally like to whip it up at home. More than that, we know folks who enjoy bubble tea and don't live anywhere near a shop like ours. We've made some ""converts"" to this form of tea over the last couple of years and those folks enjoy it when they can get it. So, for us, the best thing about this boxed kit is that it's a wonderful set of quality ingredients, packed up in a way that folks can use easily over a number of weeks. We've had some powdered bubble tea mixes that we've tried in the past and didn't especially like. What we truly appreciate here is that we're starting with actual tea leaves in this kit. Delicious! For us, this particular bubble tea kit is part of our Christmas shopping list, this year. We have a few folks who will be delighted to unwrap this gift at the holiday.

A lot of people love boba, but sometimes it's inconvenient to have to drive to get some. This kit makes it easy to have some at home. Obviously, it'll have a certain flavor to it, but overall, it's still great.

I got this as a gift for someone else so this is preliminary review. I will update once the recipient tries it out for taste and ease of use. The set came promptly and is beautifully packaged. The kit contains enough supplies to make up to 40 drinks, depending on size. Appreciate that it doesn’t have artificial sweeteners. Recipes can be found on this website

My daughter has a boba obession right now which can end up a little expensive. This is a great kit to make at home to enjoy the treat as well. I was surprised at how time consuming the process can be, but this is a really delicious treat that we can enjoy on a weekend now. Will definitely be picking up more.

This is a ready-to-use complete kit that makes tasty boba tea. Just add milk, water, and of course a cup to drink from :-). I learned a while back that good boba tea takes well-made boba above all. I like the boba tapioca pearls in this kit. There are no fragments, only whole pearls, and no powder. When you take around 15-minutes to cook them, they are tenderly chewy (some use the word “bouncy”) and have a very mild slightly-anise-like flavor that picks up the flavors of the tea, milk, and sweetener. The black tea in this kit has a nicer more aromatic flavor than your common table tea, and of course you could use your favorite tea instead. This kit includes easy-to-dispense tasty sugar syrup, and includes straws, too. And it is nicely packaged, to display when you serve it, or to give as a gift.

Smells wonderful, tastes legit, textured just right. It's work for sure. You have to be willing to make some loose leaf tea, and boil the boba. While that may sound like nothing to some people, it's a bit of trouble for me, so I let the teenagers do it. For kids (or adults) who think cooking is fun/project, this kit makes a wonderful gift. The 15 and 16 yr old were able to make seriously kick butt boba drinks for the whole family and serve it up with pride. Very importantly, the straws are included. It seems like nothing, but those fat straws are not in everyone's pantry, and needed to drink boba, so I was glad to see them inside. The tea tasted really great and aromatic as well, being made out of fresh tea, rather than the powders I have around. The boba balls were chewy and delicious. I love the brown sugar, it was very much like the ones at the shops, where large boba drinks are currently running close to $8+ where I live. (This is being written during the post pandemic inflation shock era. I really hope that number isn't true in a few years...)

So I like most anything about this set if make your own boba set, you can decide what you do want in your drink. It's pretty simple to make and I kind of prefer doing it this way so I can decide how much I want of what in my drink. Absolutely love it would be a wonderful gift for all boba fans.

I recently got into the whole bubble boba tea crazy a few months ago thanks to my girlfriend, the brown sugar ones are always delicious and my go to more often than not, so I was excited when I saw this kit appear from Locca with beautiful packaging and minimalistic design. The only thing that doesn’t come with this kit is cups, but you get everything else from the straws, the tea, the delicious brown sugar syrup, and the boba pearls, all packaged with instructions. This taste just like the same ones I buy from large chains like Mr. Wish, and ended up costing a mere fraction of the cost, each drink made with this kit being roughly $1.25/per verses $4.50/per at one of these chains typically, a huge savings!

I feel like I have a boba shop at home. The kit was packaged very neatly with a modern flair. I think this kit would make a great gift to a boba connoisseur. The instructions to make boba, the tea, and drink recipes are found on the Locca website. I had a little trouble navigating the recipe section, but that’s probably user error. The instructions are straightforward. Preparing and assembling the drinks was easy. The ingredients all appear to be very good quality. The tea is flavorful. The boba came vacuum sealed. I cooked the boba to the instructions listed and it came out a little soft for my liking. I would cook it a bit less. The brown sugar syrup is fantastic. I use it with coffee and other drinks in addition to using it with milk tea. If you’re looking to make some boba at home, you can’t go wrong with this kit.

I love the kit. it comes with all you need to make a good boba tea. brown sugar boba tea is one of my son's(11yrs old) favorite drink. He loves the pearls in them which I don't really fancy. I got this kit for my son because these are way more cost effective than buying them in store which go for $5 per drink easy. Also, there aren't any places nearby where I live. My son was eager to try it when it arrived today. We followed the direction found via scanning a QR code. thought it wasn't rocket science I felt that navigating the website and following the recipe wasn't as smooth as I'd like. However, once we made the drink my son was super happy with the taste of the milk tea as well as the pearls. 2 reasons why I didn't like boba tea from known brand before were 1. the milk tea itself was bland and lacked flavor. 2. the pearls were tasteless and mushy. I like the boba tea that I made using this kit because the milk tea and the pearls were actually tasteful. It is a bit on the sweet side but I prefer that over having no taste at all. I'd recommend this kit to anyone who likes boba tea.

I really enjoy tea. I felt like I hit the jackpot. Believe me, this is worth it. I felt like I was getting a Star XXXX product. You get more than its bargain for. When you way out the price differences, you get more than you bargain for. Now with this product, if you are a tea lover, this price is well worth it. (Just compare). This came package very well. This Bubble Tea is Elegant and Giftable. I should've waited to serve this on New Year's Day! You have enough for 40 drinks (Really!). This came right on time. On the beautiful hot day, everyone enjoyed this drink. I had reservations about the brown sugar syrup. I don't know why. I used brown sugar in Kool-Aid and teas/coffees in my younger days. I guess I forgot. This tea was light and refreshing and full of Pops lol. This is the fun of this tea. I didn't know anything about this tea. My friend grandkids asked for bubble tea at Dunkin Donuts. I thought it was called Boppa. Didn't know it exist and was limited. We were confused and didn't know what they were speaking about. Later, my daughter picked up a 10oz cup of strawberry tea (in similar Mcdonalds cup) from a major grocery store. It had writing on cup with a big straw. I tasted it and enjoyed the bubble pop. She paid how much for it. No way! Too much. I went looking online (Amazon the Best place). I found this item and Very Pleased with it. Its so easy to Make. It has Raw Tapioca pearls that needs to be cooked for great texture. You can find Recipe online. I think that a recipe should be supplied in box for easiness. Everyone to this day does not resort to Internet. I think supplying a paper recipe in box is easy access and less time consuming. Overall, I really like this product. If anyone has a problem with the price, just compare, This Locca Bubble tea is worth it. Plus, the fun you have when it pops in your mouth. They should come out with other flavors.

I am just discovering Boba, and the difference between tapioca pearls and liquid filled popping boba. This is the chewy tapioca, and thats what I prefer. Its really good with this brown sugar flavor. The tea is loose, so you need something to brew it in.

Not my first time trying Locca brand boba tea products. It is to me a good quality brand, and if you are already familiar with their physical location offerings, then this is a nice way to enjoy it at home. Lovely, good looking kit. Definitely gift worthy. Classy clean look. Not an instant tea. This needs brewing. Fresh robust taste is wonderful paired with the deep brown sugar syrup. I drizzle in milk, and add healthy amount of tapioca pearls. Nice afternoon pick me up. Includes a couple pouches of loose black tea (you will need a tea strainer), 2 bags of tapioca pearls, 2 bottles of brown sugar syrup, and 24 boba tea straws. Can supposedly make upward of 40 servings. Just have to include your own cup and decide if you want it to be milk based or not. Can swap out the brown sugar syrup for your own syrup of choice. Really nice pearls. Cook up nicely with excellent chew. As a lover of Boba tea (aka bubble tea), I often make it myself. I've had the instant powder-based stuff which can be good enough, but it is the use of fresh brewed tea that takes it to another level. I cook the tapioca pearls, I make the tea, I make the simple syrup or buy specialty syrups. All very normal process, and boba tea lovers will likely already know how to make it. No special equipment required (unless you count a loose tea leaf strainer as special, haha). SO I find this kit lovely. And this kit is inspired from their physical location/cafe (located in California)! They have lots of kits! Check out their page to see the various offerings. I have never been disappointed. Sure I could just go buy the occasional cup of boba tea, but for me.. that is an excursion, not making a special trip (gas prices, wear and tear, time= money), also those places often use the prefab powder stuff over fresh brewed tea. BIG difference. It is only very recently that some boba tea cafes have popped up in my area, and even ""my area"" is still at least a 30 minute drive (I live in rural area). Before that, I only got it when I was in a major city (like Toronto or NYC). Hence learning to make my own. Very very easy. I can even share this with my husband. He is not into stuff like this, but one day he tried the brown sugar boba tea and liked it (with milk). I'd love this as a gift! It comes in a gift worthy package, just clean and classy looking. Give as is or add in some side goodies (ideas: clear cup to see boba pearls, tea strainer, syrups, nibbles). Has an appealing classy aesthetic to it. They have a Holiday Boba tea kit that is nice but will need syrup to go with it. But I just want to say again, this product is fantastic as is. I always recommend Locca brand for gift giving.

I've been a huge fan of boba tea for many years now, but I'd never tried making my own. This was a fun experience and a great starter kit! Included: 2* Packs of Vacuum Sealed Boba Pearls 2* Packs of Loose Leaf Black Tea 2* Bottles of Brown Sugar Syrup for Boba Pearls A ton of big boba pearl sized straws QR Code for recipe This was pretty easy to follow, but making the boba pearls is pretty time consuming so I'd recommend making this with family and/or friends and making a bunch at a time to share! We actually had my fiance's sister over to make this as she'd made boba tea before. After you've made the boba/tapioca pearls, you can store them in an airtight container overnight and have more the next day, but they will be more firm by then and I wouldn't keep them for any longer than overnight. They taste best to me personally very fresh, thus I'd rather use what I make right away. You can store the rest of the boba pearls you don't make preferably in a vacuum sealed bag, but if you don't have a vacuum sealer then you can store these in a ziplock bag and push out as much air as possible, they just won't stay fresh for as long. If they start turning white, you'll know that they've gone bad. The brown sugar syrup is delicious, especially over the boba, but you can add this straight into your drink too! The boba pearls themselves are a great, chewy texture when they're freshly prepared. The black tea included tasted wonderful as well. They don't include tea bags in this set, so you'll need a strainer or your own tea bags to use with it, but I like being able to portion out how much tea I'd like. The pearls themselves can be used in many other things as well, such as fruit drinks or matcha drinks. I really enjoyed this set, and still have some left over! This is a great gift set for people who aren't experienced in making boba tea and want to try it out, or for a big party or get-together. The boba pearls are great quality and the syrup is so tasty and not overly sweet! Everything tastes high quality and is well packaged. I highly recommend this gift set!

The kit comes with everything you need to make your drink and the flavor of the tea is very delicious. The instructions on the tapioca cooking are a little off and I had to cook them for longer but they are absolutely delicious! I also really appreciate getting the straws and syrup with it! It’s lasted me a while and I’m very happy with it! :)

Omg so good I would buy again it was easy but you def have to read directions only problem is they are online they should come in the box!

First off, decent amount of product. I maybe thought that the pearl packs would be a bit bigger but that's on me for not reading the weight and sizes! Second, so very tasty. I have ALWAYS struggled to make the perfect brown sugar syrup so this was a huge help. I know how to make my own boba at home but lately I have been so busy and with increasing prices, it's cheaper to just buy premade than to make it yourself. The pearls are freeze dried I believe so it can crumble a bit easily so handle with care. Aside from that, perfect texture and tasty. I didn't realize the black tea was loose leaf so I did have to buy some reusable tea bags after realizing but not too big of an issue! That's what I get for not reading clearly. The tea is very good, best part of it. I absolutely love boba so this was a worthwhile purchase for me.

Got this for my boba addicted girlfriend, she loves it. Would have preferred reusable straws to the plastic disposable straws in the kit.

I got the brown sugar boba kit. I was a little iffy at first but after making this I can definitely say it was amazing. To be honest the quality was better than 90% of the restaurant boba teas I have tried and I have tried a bunch of restaurants. Definitely restaurant quality if you follow the cooking instructions carefully. After the first time making it, the rest of the times were easy. It was delicious and appearance was just like high quality restaurant style. I noticed that after you cook it, it can't be stored for long. The pearls will get hard after storing so just put them in the microwave to get them back to normal. I only use them for the first 2 days.

Best taste ever!! I uses coconut milk and added some milk foam on top. Improving my boba skills:) It is great to make your own boba. Cheaper and better than store buy. Fun is a plus!
